CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - After each earning All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors a year ago, North Carolina senior forward Marcus Storey and sophomore forward Jamie Watson have been named to the second annual 25-man watch list for the Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy, regarded as the most prestigious individual honor in intercollegiate soccer. The list was compiled by a coaching panel for the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, which serves as the official selection body for the award. Storey, who tallied 15 points on six goals and three assists a year ago, earned first-team all-league honors in 2003. He has 61 points on 23 goals and 15 assists in his three-year collegiate career. Watson also posted 15 points on five goals and five assists. He was named ACC Rookie of the Year and claimed second-team all-league honors in 2003. With Storey and Watson on the list, Carolina is one of just four schools to have two players honored, joining Indiana, Notre Dame and UCLA. Only three other ACC players join Storey and Watson on the list: Duke midfielder Blake Camp, Wake Forest defender Michael Parkhurst and Maryland forward Abe Thompson. Picked Tuesday to win the 2004 ACC title by the league's head coaches, Carolina opens it's exhibition season against College of Charleston, Saturday, August 21 at 4:30 p.m. at SAS Stadium in Cary.
