CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Already picked as the favorite to win the Atlantic Coast Conference title by the league's head coaches, the North Carolina men's soccer team claimed the No. 6 spot in the 2004 NSCAA/adidas NCAA Division I Men's Preseason Rankings, which were released Tuesday. All four teams slated for this year's Nike Carolina Classic: UNC, Wake Forest, Virginia Commonwealth and Florida International are ranked. The event is scheduled for September 10-12 at Fetzer Field. Carolina wraps up its exhibition schedule at No. 23 Coastal Carolina at 6 p.m. Saturday. The Tar Heels' regular-season opener is against Penn State on September 3 at the Ohio State Classic.
