Boole Earns Academic All-District Honors

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - North Carolina junior David Boole, a starting defender on the Tar Heels' No. 4-ranked men's soccer team, has been selected to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District III First Team, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced Thursday.
A business administration major from Raleigh, Boole has started all 17 games at outside back for Carolina and is tied for second on the team with four assists. He assisted on three of the Tar Heels' first four goals of the season and was named ACC Player of the Week Sept. 5. Boole has helped anchor a Carolina defense that has posted 10 shutouts and leads the Atlantic Coast Conference with a 0.73 goals against average.
Boole is a two-time member of the ACC Academic Honor Roll and has earned Dean's List honors in each of the last three semesters.
As a first-team selection Boole now moves on to the ballot for ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America honors, which will be announced earlier this month. The District III team was chosen by a vote CoSIDA members in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.
