CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - With the 2005 Major League Soccer season nearing its midseason all-star game, TarHeelBlue.com takes a look at the 13 former Tar Heels active in the league. Several veterans are regular starters for their respective teams, while rookies Jamie Watson, Marcus Storey and Tim Merritt are making in impact in the new Reserve Division.

Matt Crawford, Defender, Colorado Rapids
Played in four matches and made three starts • Also played one game in the Reserve Division • Team is 5-10-2.
Chris Leitch, Defender, NY/NJ MetroStars
Started all 15 games and has played all 1,350 minutes • Taken six shots and assisted on one goal • Team record is 5-4-6.
Tim Merritt, Defender, D.C. United
On the developmental roster • Made six starts with the reserves and scored one goal (through June 5).
Logan Pause, Midfielder, Chicago Fire
Has played in 13 matches and made 11 starts in the midfield • Take two shots and added one assist • Also played five games in the Reserve Division • Team record is 10-6-2.
Eddie Pope, Defender, Real Salt Lake
Made 11 starts at defender • Taken six shots and scored one goal • Team record is 3-9-4.
Eddie Robinson, Midfield/Defender, San Jose Earthquakes
Started 15 of a possible 16 matches at defender • Taken two shots • Team record stands at 6-3-7.
David Stokes, Defender, D.C. United
Played in nine matches at defender and has made three starts • Taken two shots and assisted on one goal • Also played in four games in the Reserve Division • Team is 6-5-4.
Marcus Storey, Midfielder/Forward, Columbus Crew

Carey Talley, Midfielder, FC Dallas
Played in 10 games, including eight starts, and tallied one assist, a game-winner • Taken seven shots, four on goal • Also played two games in the Reserve Division • Team record is an MLS-best 10-2-4.
David Testo, Forward/Midfield, Columbus Crew
Played in six games, starting three • Taken one shot • Also played three games with the reserves • Team record is 4-9-2.
Michael Ueltschey, Goalkeeper, NY/NJ MetroStars

Jamie Watson, Forward, Real Salt Lake
