Three Tar Heels Ranked By Amateur Wrestling News

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Three Tar Heels - two-time All-America Evan Sola and Atlantic Coast Conference champions David Dashiell and Drew Forshey - were ranked among the nation's top 20 in their respective weight classes in the Amateur Wrestling News Preseason Rankings, which were released earlier this month.
Sola, who finished sixth at the 2005 NCAA Championships for the best finish by a Tar Heel since 1997, is ranked fifth at 133 pounds. He was named ACC Wrestler of the Year for the second time in his career last season and owns the highest preseason ranking for any ACC wrestler.
Fresh off his first ACC title and first trip to nationals, junior Drew Forshey is ranked No. 18 at 125 pounds, while junior David Dashiell is rated 20th at 197. Dashiell won his second conference title and reached the NCAA Championships for the second time in his career last season.
The Tar Heels, who open the 2005-06 season Nov. 12 at the Mat Jam Duals in Boone, N.C., return all 10 starters from last year's ACC championship squad.
