Luchici & Pomeroy Merit First-Team All-America Honors

SKILLMAN, N.J. - North Carolina men's tennis seniors Raian Luchici and Brad Pomeroy were formally named first-team All-America Friday by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
"This is a tremendous for those guys. I am very proud of Raian and Brad. They have been magnificent representatives of our University during their careers. I am very happy for them to be recognized in this way," said Tar Heel head coach Sam Paul.
Luchcici won first-team All-America honors in both singles and doubles. Pomeroy was honored in doubles.
The last player in Carolina history to be named a first-team All-America in both singles and doubles in the same season was David Caldwell in 1995.
As a team, North Carolina finished the season ranked No. 12 nationally by the ITA. Luchici ended his senior year ranked No. 15 nationally in singles. As a doubles team, Luchici and Pomeroy wound up rated as the No. 6 team in the nation.
