On the way the team played:
"Obviously we're thrilled with the win, 2-1, and I am actually excited about the way our kids played. Cause if you think about who we graduated, I thought that was just a superb win."
On Heather's second goal
"My angle wasn't good, so my guess is that you'll have to ask their goalkeeper, I guess she thought it was wide."
On the young players play today:
"You know what I liked is that it was probably Heather O'Reilly's best game, that was probably Tobin Heath's best game, that was probably Casey Nogueira's best game. So what's happening now is that the players are starting to play a little better, get a little more confident and then the energy was fantastic. And I think we have a good substitution rhythm with the players we played. Cause we think that Ariel (Harris) should have a role and she helped us, she came off the bench and did a good job and then there was some issues with Ali (Hawkins) at halftime, something was wrong with her lower legs, so we started Ariel in the second half and that gave Ali a bit of a rest. I thought the energy at the end made a big difference for us; obviously a great win for us. "
On Florida State's goal:
"Anna thought the girl was offsides and she will be the first one to tell you, unless she is sure, she should just bang that thing out. No big deal, water over the dam, no big deal."
On today's win:
"Obviously we were excited to win, it's our first conference game and we play in a great conference so this puts us in a wonderful position as we get into the regular season in the ACC."
On the team's mindset before the game:
"A lot of things were swelling up before the game and they are a great team. With what they did to us last year, I think we will carry that with us, definitely the rest of the season."
On her second goal:
"I think what probably happened was that it was a bent shot, a lot of times it looks like it is going wide, but it just curves in like a baseball pitch. She probably thought it was going just past the post, but it just squeezed in."
On her first goal:
"That was one thing that we noticed from early on, was shooting from the outside because they have a lot of numbers down the middle, so if we saw any window, to just fire away and I got a lucky crossbar for once. Usually it comes right back at me and that one just landed right in the net."
On the growth of the team:
"I think that with the beginning of the season, with a lot of people coming and going, and than everybody returned, but it still takes a couple of games to get in a good rhythm and to get good chemistry and I think that we are just going to keep excelling and hopefully we are peaking at a wonderful time of the season."
