Carolina Hosts Liberty Tuesday

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - After a 0-2-2 start at home to the 2007 season, North Carolina hopes to collect its first victory at Fetzer Field Tuesday against Liberty at 7:30 p.m. at Fetzer Field. The Tar Heels (2-2-4) are coming off a scoreless tie at VCU over the weekend, while the Flames (6-1-1) scored a 1-0 win over Winthrop.
Carolina's shutout of VCU was its fourth of the season in eight outings and the fourth for freshman goalkeeper Tyler Deric, who lowered his goals against average to 0.56, which ranks 17th nationally. The Tar Heels have allowed just five goals in over 800 minutes of action on the season.
Sophomore forward Bill Dworsky continues to lead the offensive attack with eight points on three goals and two assists.
The Tar Heels scored a 1-0 win at Liberty last season on a Scott Campbell goal in the teams' lone meeting.
Adrian Bumbut leads the Flames with 13 points on five goals and three assists, while goalkeeper Paul Gilbert owns a 0.49 GAA and five shutouts in eight matches. Liberty has allowed only four goals on the season.
