HOUSTON - Former North Carolina standouts Eddie Robinson and Corey Ashe helped lead the Houston Dynamo to their second straight Major League Soccer title Sunday with a 2-1 win over the New England Revolution.
Robinson started at center back, while Ashe came off the bench in the Dynamo midfield in the title game. Robinson helped Houston set a MLS record for the fewest goals allowed in a single season. A finalist for MLS Defender of the Year, Robinson was honored with a spot on the MLS Best XI, pro soccer's version of the all-pro team.
Ashe and Robinson were two of 12 former Tar Heels active in MLS this season.
