LAKE BUENA VISTA, FLA. - Three members of the University of North Carolina's No. 4-ranked women's soccer team were named All-Atlantic Coast Conference Tuesday. All three are underclassmen -- junior midfielder Yael Averbuch, sophomore midfielder Tobin Heath and sophomore forward Casey Nogueira. All three were named first-team.
Freshman forward/midfielder/defender Meghan Klingenberg was named to the ACC's All-Freshman Team.
The 11 head coaches in the ACC voted on the team.
Nogueira and Averbuch rank 1-2 on the Tar Heel team in scoring this year. Heath is Carolina's left side midfielder and one of the top defensive midfielders in the country.
Nogueira and Averbuch share the team lead with four game-winning goals each.
UNC plays No. 8 seed Clemson Wednesday at 12 noon in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament at Lake Buena Vista, Fla. The Tar Heels, who lost three of their first 10 games, have rallied to win eight in a row, now standing 15-3 overall and 9-1 in the ACC.
