CHAPEL HILL - The University of North Carolina will proudly host the NCAA Regionals on Friday, June 1st through Monday, June 4th for the second year in a row.
Consequently, the a portion of Ridge Road will be closed to thru traffic from Friday, June 1st through Monday, June 4th. The section of Ridge Road from Country Club Road by the Law School to Stadium Drive by Avery and Parker Residence Halls, will close approximately 2.5 hours prior to the first game of each day and remain closed until the end of the final game of each date. Stadium Drive will remain open to thru traffic throughout the tournament and no buses will be detoured.
However, S3 permit holders will be allowed access to the S3 lots via the Country Club end of Ridge Road, even when the road is closed to other thru traffic. Only a limited number of spaces in the Navy Field Lot and in front of Henry Stadium be used by baseball to accommodate various NCAA specified needs.
No S3 overflow is anticipated. The Athletic Department S3 permit holders that normally park in the S3 Navy Field lot have been relocated to accommodate the remaining S3 permit holders. However, if overcrowding should occur, S3 permits will be honored in the Highway 54 Lot and the Outdoor Recreation Center (T Lot).
