Austin Is Runner-Up At LPGA T&CP Championship

Carolina's head women's golf coach Sally Austin was the runner-up at the SkyCaddie LPGA Teaching & Club Pros Championship Senior Division, losing by just one stroke to Angela Aulenti. Austin fired rounds of 73-73-74 for a four-over-par 220 at Pinehurst #8. Austin finished two strokes ahead of third-place finisher, M.J. Smith.
Tar Heel assistant coach Patricia Martinson tied for eighth place in the Championship Division. Martinson fired a one-under 71 in the final round to finish at three-over 219. She carded 76-72 in the first two rounds. Martinson finished seven strokes behind champion Lisa DePaulo who posted a four-under 212 total.
