One of the only pieces of bad news about Carolina opening the baseball season in Florida (as compared to the good news, which includes a projected Friday high of 83 degrees in Boca Raton) is that the Diamond Heels will play their first three games in a virtual media blackout. There will be no radio or ACC Select coverage of tonight's game. However, if you want to follow Friday and Saturday's action, you can catch every pitch right here on the TarHeelBlue.com blog. We'll be right here with you around 6 p.m., depending on what time we can drag ourselves away from the pool (sorry, just had to twist the knife one more time). As always, we want your emails, so start sending them now and we'll use the best throughout the game.
By the way, the first ACC Select broadcast of the season will be Tuesday at 3:30 against a formidable Old Dominion squad. Radio coverage will begin once the men's basketball season concludes, although there's a chance a couple games could be added to the slate before the end of hoops. Stay tune to TarHeelBlue.com for more details.
If you're looking to pass the time until the first pitch, some quick information about Florida Atlantic. Baseball America picked them third in their preseason look at the Sun Belt Conference. The Owls placed six players on BA's preseason players to watch squad, including tonight's starting pitcher, Mickey Storey.
