The Phoenix and the Mount will begin play shortly in Cary, NC at the USA Baseball National Training Complex. The elimination game will be followed by UNC and UNC-Wilmington at 5:00 p.m. The Mount, which one of the smallest Division I programs in the country, is enjoying their stay at the Cary Regional. Earlier in the year the Tar Heel basketball faced Mount St. Marys in the opening round the NCAA basketball tournament. In other NCAA baseball regional news, four number one seeds, including Georgia and Florida State lost their opening round games. Florida State will face rival Florida in a elimination game at 7:00 p.m. Another ACC school Virginia lost a heart-breaking first round game to UCLA, where the Bruins pulled off the hidden ball trick. UVA will face off against Rider around 11:00 p.m. ET.
