The Seahawks struck first in the top of the fourth inning to take a 1-0 lead over the Phoenix. After a double to left field by third baseman Nate Hall, right fielder Bobby Leeper added a RBI triple off the wall in right center field. In a rare play, Leeper was then called out after sliding into third. Leeper attempted to call time after sliding safely into third, Phoenix third baseman Bennett Davis continued to apply the tag and Leeper was called out by umpire Mike Morris. To continue to the drama, Seahawk first base coach Aaron Smith was then ejected after arguing the rare call. Bennett Davis then smoked a towering home run to left center field in the bottom of the fourth to knot the game at one. The Seahawks have scored one run on three hits to the Phoenix's one run on four hits.
