CHAPEL HILL, N.C.--University of North Carolina men's tennis player Clay Donato sat down with TarHeelBlue.com Thursday afternoon to talk about the upcoming season, how he arrived at Carolina via Canada, Florida and Texas and some of the things that make him uniquely Canadian.
Donato had a brilliant sophomore year in 2007-08. He went 21-9 in singles for a winning percentage of .700 and he was 11-5 in singles against ACC opponents. He played primarily at the No. 4 spot in the singles lineup and at the No. 2 spot in the doubles order.
In doubles, Donato was an outstanding 25-5 on the year, a winning percentage of .833.
