CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Forward Brian Shriver scored his third goal of the season on a give-and-go play from Kirk Urso to give the Tar Heels a 1-0 lead over Elon in Wednesday's 2-1 victory. TarHeelBlue.com caught up with Shriver, a senior from Clearwater, Fla., after the game.
TarHeelBlue.com: Shriver on scoring chances and finally converting in the Tar Heels' game against Elon:
Brian Shriver: We had a lot of opportunities. We should have converted quite a bit more than we did. We created some good ones. We just couldn't finish on them.
THB.com: Shriver on his first-half goal to give Carolina a 1-0 lead:
BS: I just got found space and was able to get a good look and beat the keeper.
THB.com: What's your favorite Carolina soccer moment?
BS: Beating Duke last year, here in overtime.
THB.com: What game are you most looking forward to this season?
BS: Wake Forest because it's senior night, and we want to show everyone that we are just as good as the No. 1 team in the country.
THB.com: Do you have a pregame ritual?
BS: No. I just listen to rap and reggae my iPod.
THB.com: What did you do this summer?
BS: I stayed in Chapel Hill and took classes and did summer league in Cary.
THB.com: What did you do to improve your game over the summer?
BS: Just played. Played as much as possible.
THB.com: What is your favorite movie?
BS: Harold and Kumar.
