- Baker Chats With TarHeelBlue.com
CHAPEL HILL, N.C.--University of North Carolina men's tennis player Kyle Baker sat down with TarHeelBlue.com last Sunday to talk about offseason training, expectations for the upcoming season in the highly competitive ACC, and what it's like to play for Head Coach Sam Paul.
Baker is coming off of his first season of action for the Tar Heels after redshirting his true freshman season because of a wrist injury. His match experience last season was limited as he attempted to ease back into playing comfortably with his surgically repaired wrist. This season, however, Baker should contend for one of the four lineup spots vacated since last season.
Baker was a highly talented player in high school, going undefeated in 55 matches at Harrison High in Kennesaw, Ga. He was part of the recruiting class that was ranked second in the nation in 2006 by tennisrecruiting.net, and was ranked as a five-star blue chip recruit.
