CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Fresh off a hard-fought win over in-state foe Elon, No. 15 North Carolina continues a four-match homestand Saturday against East Tennessee State at 7 p.m. at Fetzer Field. The Tar Heels (6-1-1) are unbeaten in four games on their home pitch and will look to continue that streak against the Buccaneers (4-2-0).
Last time out, UNC got goals from senior forward Brian Shriver and freshman defender Sheanon Williams and a late penalty kick save from senior keeper Jacob Wescoe to claim a 2-1 win over the Phoenix Wednesday.
Shriver (three goals) and fellow forward Eddie Ababio (five goals, one assist) are the Tar Heels' top offensive threats, while Wescoe owns a 0.63 goals against average and 21 saves in six starts in goal. Ten different Tar Heels have scored this season, with six different players tallying game-winners.
The first-year ETSU program has won four of its last five outings, including victories over Elon and High Point in its last two matches. Sean Hoek leads the Bucs with three goals.
The Tar Heels are back in action Tuesday against UNC Asheville at 7 p.m. at Fetzer.
