CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - No. 2 North Carolina carries a four-match unbeaten streak into Tuesday's home contest with Campbell at 7 p.m. at Fetzer Field. The Tar Heels (8-1-2) will look to snap a three-game losing skid against the Camels (4-6-1), who have beaten UNC in each of the past three seasons.
Tuesday's match marks the debut for the Tar Heel men on Carolina All-Access, which will air a live webcast of the game on TarHeelBlue.com. Fans will be able to view the match free of charge.
Coming off a 2-2 draw at No. 6 Wake Forest last Friday, Carolina returns home where it owns a 7-0-1 record on the season and an 11-match unbeaten streak dating to last season. The Tar Heels will also host Boston College at Fetzer Friday.
Carolina enters the match as one of the most balanced teams in the nation and one of only five squads to rank among the nation's top 20 in both scoring offense and goals against average. The Tar Heels are tied for 20th with 2.00 goals per game and rank 15th with a 0.60 GAA. Only Akron, Liberty, Harvard and Louisville are also a part of this exclusive group.
Junior midfielder Michael Farfan continues to lead UNC offensively with team bests of five goals and 13 points, but seven different Tar Heels have netted at least two goals on the season. Defensively, Carolina has allowed more than one goal just once this season and has yielded only seven scores all season. The Tar Heels own five shutouts on the year.
Campbell has won three straight, having scored at least three goals in each match. Vince Petrasso leads the Camels with 13 points on three goals and seven assists. The Camels have been outscored by the opposition by a 24-20 margin for the season.
UNC leads the all-time series with Campbell by a 14-5-1 margin but is looking for its first victory over the Camels since 2002. Campbell defeated Carolina by a 2-1 margin at Fetzer in 2007 and a 2-0 count in Buies Creek a year ago.
