The Tar Heels are now 17-0-1 against Atlantic Coast Conference opponents in NCAA Tournament matches.
UNC improved to 104-7-1 in NCAA Tournament games, a winning percentage over 93 percent.
Carolina has won 104 NCAA Tournament games, 51 more than Notre Dame which ranks second with 53 NCAA Tournament wins. The Tar Heels will face the Fighting Irish next Friday in the NCAA semifinals in College Station, Texas.
Carolina has outscored its opponents 389-61 in 112 NCAA Tournament matches.
UNC improved to 25-0-1 in NCAA Tournament quarterfinal matches. The Tar Heels advance to the College Cup for the 25th time in the 28-year history of the tournament.

In her career, Nogueira now has 12 NCAA Tournament goals and eight NCAA Tournament assists for a total of 32 points.
Nogueira now has 11 multi-goal games in her career after scoring three against Wake Forest Friday. Nogueira now has four career hat tricks, scoring three times against Ohio State on September 20, 2007, three times against Wake Forest on October 5, 2008, four times against NC State on October 17, 2008 and three times against Wake Forest on November 27, 2009.
Nogueira has four of her 11 career multi-goal games in 2009. She scored three times Friday against Wake Forest and also had two goals each against UCLA, Clemson and in the ACC Tournament finals against Florida State.
UNC improved to 24-1 all-time against Wake Forest Friday and has now beaten the Demon Deacons 14 successive times.
The 12 goals allowed this year by Carolina are the fewest given up by a Tar Heel team since the 2003 team surrendered 11 goals.
Kristi Eveland moved into a tie for second place in games played in her UNC career when she played in her 105th match Friday. Robin Confer (1994-97) played in 107 games in her career while both Eveland and Yael Averbuch (2005-08) have played in 105 games.
Whitney Engen played in the 103rd game of her career Friday and is now tied for fifth in career games played at Carolina behind Confer, Averbuch, Eveland and Rebekah McDowell (1996-99) who played in 104 games. Engen is tied for fifth on the list with Cindy Parlow (1995-98) with 103 games.
Casey Nogueira became the 15th Tar Heel in history to play in 100 career games with her appearance on Friday.
Kristi Eveland and Whitney Engen both moved up on the career games started list Friday. Yael Averbuch holds the UNC record for games started with 105 while Eveland has now moved into sole possession of second place in games started with 102. Engen started her 101st career game Friday and she is tied with Cindy Parlow (1995-98), Tiffany Roberts (1995-98) and Danielle Borgman (1998-2001) for third on the all-time list.
When Wake Forest scored at the 56:49 mark of Friday's match, it marked the end of a remarkable streak of 798 minutes and 52 seconds in which the Tar Heel defense had not surrendered a goal. UNC did not allow a goal from the 80:11 mark of the match at Miami on October 25 until Kaley Fountain broke the streak Friday with her goal at 56:49.
UNC's defense has recorded two different streaks of over 740 minutes of holding opponents scoreless this year. In addition to the 798 minute, 52 second streak that ended Friday, there was also a streak of 742 minutes and 15 seconds in which the Tar Heels held opponents scoreless earlier this season. That streak started late in the game against UCLA on August 22 and ended late in the match against Duke a little over a month later.
Of the 12 goals UNC has given up this year, seven have came in three matches (UCLA, Florida State, Wake Forest) and the remaining five goals in the other 22 matches combined.
UNC has had shutout streaks this year of both eight matches (10-29 through 11-21) and seven matches (8-28 through 9-20).
Carolina had its string of eight straight shutouts halted Friday. That was the longest shutout streak for UNC since 1997 and it matched the sixth longest shutout streak in Tar Heel history.
North Carolina has played 21 of its 25 games this season against teams which qualified for the 2009 NCAA Tournament field. UNC is now 18-2-1 in those matches.
Friday's match was the 16th UNC has played this season against teams which finished the season ranked in the NSCAA coaches poll Top 25. UNC is 14-2 in those matches.
Carolina has limited its opponents to only 40 shots in the past nine games.
UNC has allowed only 14 goals over the last 3,272 minutes and 16 seconds dating back to October 30, 2008.
Casey Nogueira moved past Stephanie Zeh into 14th place in career scoring at Carolina with her six points Friday. Nogueira now has 136 points in her career, ranking 14th overall. Meredith Florance (1997-2000) ranks 13th in career points with 150.
Casey Nogueira's three goals improved her career total to 54. She is just one goal behind Stephanie Zeh (1981-82) on the Tar Heels' all-time goals scored list. Zeh ranks 14th with 55 career goals and Nogueira is now 15th with 54.
UNC's nine seniors are now 92-9-4 over the past four seasons. That is the best record for a senior class in NCAA Division I. Notre Dame is second with a four-year record of 91-10-4.
