- One day after setting the Tar Heels' career base hit record, Dustin Ackley added a second career mark by scoring a first-inning run, the 220th of his career. He entered the game tied with Jarrett Shearin, who set the previous record with 219 runs from 1996-99, and Ackley also scored in the eighth for 221 in his career.
- Ackley went 4-for-4 for his 15th career game with at least four hits to extend a 16-game hitting streak in NCAA play dating to Carolina's final four games of the 2007 College World Series. He has a hit in 20 of 25 career postseason games and has 12 multi-hit efforts in NCAA play.
- Ackley is batting .500 (30-60) in May with nine multi-hit games in 14 chances. He raised his season average to .414 Saturday and is just two hits shy of his third straight 100-hit season.
- With his 4-for-4 effort tonight, Ackley is now a career .478 hitter (11-23) in six games versus Coastal Carolina.
- Levi Michael was 4-for-6 with two runs and three RBI for his first career postseason hits and his third career four-hit game.
- Ben Bunting was 2-for-5 with two runs and three RBI for his fifth multi-hit game in the last six outings. Bunting's bases-clearing double in the third matched his career high with three RBI for the third time.
