Tar Heels Celebrate Fall

The North Carolina field hockey team worked hard this week to prepare for Saturday's meeting with second-ranked Maryland, but that didn't stop the Tar Heels from taking time out for a bit of fun. With UNC on Fall Break, the team practiced in the morning on Thursday then celebrated fall with a Henry Stadium hoedown. Dressed in costumes, the Tar Heels bobbed for apples and competed in groups to carve the best jack-o'-lantern.
Top-ranked UNC (16-0) meets Maryland Saturday at 1 p.m. in College Park, Md. The game is a rematch of the 2009 NCAA Championship, which Carolina won 3-2 to claim the program's sixth crown.
