On missed opportunities throughout the match:
"Obviously, that's what they were, missed opportunities; we just have to put them away. "
On possible lack of urgency after early goal to go up 1-0:
"I don't know. We still got our chances. Its just part of the game and we didn't finish. And I think at the end, [Maryland] outworked us a bit and got up on us. It wasn't the result we wanted."
On late foul calls that set up Maryland scoring opportunities:
"The game was a bit choppy. I wish it was a bit more consistent, but that's something you have to deal with."
Courtney Jones
On missed opportunities throughout the match:
"We had a lot of chances. I felt like in the first half we got the first goal and that was good. Put the other team on their toes, that's what we want to do with the early goal. Then there were so many missed opportunities in the second half."
On scoring Carolina's lone goal:
"Crystal [Dunn] was running around like crazy trying to get the ball from the other team. I think they messed up a pass and it hit off their defender. So I just chased after it, took a touch, and slipped it past their keeper."
Head Coach: Anson Dorrance
On scoring early goal and leading for almost the entire game:
"No, I think the early goal is always good. You want to score, obviously, as early and as often as you can. So I don't think [scoring early] hurt us. I think what hurt us is we didn't seem to be passing that well, today. We had opportunities and we either missed them, couldn't get them in, or didn't see them."
On missed opportunities:
"In the second half I thought we scored, certainly, our share of chances and just couldn't put it away. And finishing--it's not like it's automatic. Finishing is the absolute hardest thing to do in this game. And the second hardest thing to do after finishing is the final pass."
