Goodwin Earns Academic All-District Honors

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Sophomore goalkeeper Scott Goodwin was named to the ESPN Academic All-District III second team this week as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Goodwin has started all 16 matches in net for the Tar Heels and helped lead No. 4 Carolina to a 13-2-1 mark on the year.
Goodwin owns a 4.00 grade point average during his time at Carolina and is a member of the Rising Stars Leadership Academy along with the Student-Athletic Advisory Council.
The Raleigh, N.C., native has posted a 0.74 goals against average on the year and has been the part of seven shutouts in Carolina's 13-2-1 overall record.
Goodwin has turned away 36 shots on the year and owns a .750 save percentage. His 0.42 goals against average is tops in conference games as he has helped propel the Tar Heels to the top spot in the ACC this season.
Goodwin and the Tar Heels close out the regular season Friday when they host Clemson with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
