First Pitch Dinner Set For Saturday

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The second-annual First Pitch Dinner will be held this Saturday, February 13, at the Carolina Club on UNC's campus. The event was rescheduled to this Saturday from Jan. 30, 2010 due to inclement weather.
The event will open at 6:30 p.m. with a social and silent auction followed by dinner at 7:30 p.m. Saturday will be a busy day on for Carolina athletics, men's basketball hosts NC State at 4 p.m., men's lacrosse hosts Bryant University at noon and the Diamond Heels will be scrimmaging during the day.
Tickets for the second-annual event, which sold out last year, are available by contacting Kim Jones with the Rams Club at (919) 843-6433. If you have already purchased a ticket, you will be receiving a phone call regarding the event's changes. Individual tickets are $75 and tables of eight seated with a UNC player are available for $600.
For the second straight year, supporters and fans of the University of North Carolina baseball program will have the opportunity to kick off the upcoming season with a memorable evening at the Diamond Heels' First Pitch Dinner.
Peter Gammons, Major League Baseball analyst and 1969 Carolina graduate, is the featured speaker for the event. Attendees also will have the chance to meet the 2010 Tar Heels, and this year's senior class will preview the upcoming season.
The event will open at 6:30 p.m. with a social and silent auction followed by dinner at 7:30 p.m. The program and a live auction will follow dinner. Auction items featured will include autographed memorabilia from the Heels CWS appearances and former Tar Heel Dustin Ackley.
Business attire is requested. Parking will be arranged through Kim Jones of the Rams Club.
