1960 CWS Team Celebrates 50th Anniversary

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. --- The University of North Carolina baseball program celebrated the 50th anniversary of the 1960 College World Series Team this past weekend. The 1960 team led by head coach Walter Rabb was the first of eight Carolina teams to make it to Omaha.
The Tar Heels posted a 22-7 overall record in 1960 winning 14 straight en route to the first CWS appearance in Carolina history. The 1960 team members enjoyed Carolina's sweep of Virginia Tech this past Saturday in newly renovated Boshamer Stadium.
