No. 4 Tar Heels To Take On NC State

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The No. 4 UNC men's soccer team will take to the road Friday to open the Atlantic Coast Conference season against NC State at 7 p.m. in Raleigh, N.C. The Tar Heels are coming off a 4-1 win over Seton Hall on Sunday as sophomore Enzo Martinez tallied a pair of goals to lead Carolina.
The Tar Heels claimed a 2-1 home win in 2009 before battling to a 0-0 draw in the ACC Tournament as the Wolfpack advanced on penalty kicks. Carolina is unbeaten against NC State in its last four matches picking up home wins in 2008 and 2009 and a road win in 2007.
NC State struck first in 2009 with a goal in the second minute before Zach Loyd evened things up with a penalty kick in the 33rd minute. Michael Farfan provided the advantage in the 63rd minute to provide Carolina with the 2-1 win.
