NORTH CAROLINA POSTGAME NOTES

Tyler Zeller scored 31 points and had 10 rebounds. The 31 points are his season scoring high and his second-highest scoring game as a Tar Heel (32 against LIU in 2011 NCAA Tournament).

It was Zeller's third double-double this year and the eighth of his career.

Kendall Marshall had 13 assists and only two turnovers. It was his fifth 10-assist game this year and the 11th in his 48-game collegiate career.

Marshall tied his own UNC record for assists in two consecutive games with 29. He had 16 in UNC's last game against Long Beach State and 13 tonight. Earlier this year he set the two-game record when he had 15 against Tennessee State and 14 vs. South Carolina.

For the season, Marshall has 115 assists and only 29 turnovers, an assist-error ratio of 3.97 to 1. Marshall is averaging 10.5 assists per game.

Harrison Barnes had his 24-game double-figure scoring streak stopped as he finished with nine points on 4 of 12 shooting from the floor.

Carolina committed a season-low seven turnovers.

P.J. Hairston and Reggie Bullock both had 10 points. Hairston scored all 10 of his points at the free throw line and is now shooting 86.7 percent from the line this year (26 of 30).

Bullock scored in double figures for the third straight game. This is the first time as a Tar Heel he has scored in double figures in three consecutive games.

The Tar Heels have won 52 straight games at the Smith Center against non-conference opponents.

Carolina has now won 22 straight games at the Smith Center, the second-longest in Smith Center history. The record is 25 in a row from 1992-94.

The Tar Heels made just 2 of 10 from three-point range. The two made threes equal the fewest this season (also made two against UNC Asheville).
