Carolina shot 55.7 percent from the floor (34x61), marking the first time this season the Tar Heels made 50 percent or better in consecutive games (the first time UNC has done that since the first three games of the 2009-10 season).

Carolina's 55.7 percent shooting from the floor came against the nation's top-ranked field goal percentage defense in Florida State. The Seminoles were limiting their opponents to 35.5 percent shooting prior to today's game. The previous high against FSU this year was 47.2 percent by Loyola Marymount on Dec. 18, 2010. The last time an opponent shot better than 50 percent against FSU was Gonzaga, which shot 50.0 percent in the 2010 NCAA Tournament. This is just the second time in 91 games an opponent shot 50 orbetter against FSU.

Carolina's five starters shot 61.7 percent from the floor today (Barnes 7-15, Zeller 6-8, Henson 7-10, Strickland 6-10, Marshall 3-4).

Carolina shot 64.3 percent from the floor in the second half, the highest in any half by UNC this year (previous high was 62.5 in the first half vs. Hofstra on Nov.18, 2010) and the highest in a half against FSU this season. It was also the highest percentage in a half by the Tar Heels since they shot 65.2 percent in the second half against Virginia Tech on Jan. 10, 2010.

The Tar Heels scored 89 points, the third consecutive game in which UNC scored 84 or more points.

The 89 points were 16 more than Florida State had allowed this season (73 vs. UNC Greensboro on Nov. 14, 2010). FSU had only allowed 70 or more points in three of its first 22 games this year. It is the most points allowed by FSU since the Tar Heels beat Florida State, 90-77, on March 4, 2008.

Kendall Marshall had nine points (tying his ACC best), 16 assists and three steals. The 16 assists are ...

the fourth-most ever by a Tar Heel in any game

the most by a Tar Heel since sophomore Raymond Felton had a school-record 18 against George Mason on Dec. 7, 2003
