Carolina Golfers Fall Behind At LSU Golf Classic

BATON ROUGE, La. -
The North Carolina women's golf team struggled in round two of the LSU Golf Classic, carding a 51-over 627. The Tar Heels fell six spots and are tied for 14th place. It was Carolina's freshmen Casey Grice and Katherine Perry that led the team.
Both Grice, from College Station, Tex., and Perry, from Cary, N.C., finished the day carding an eight-over-par 81. Grice is tied for 58th at 14-over 158 and Perry is tied for 38th at 10-over 154. Juniors Catherine O'Donnell, from Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., and Allie White, from Lancaster, Ohio, both carded a nine-over 82. O'Donnell is at eight-over 152 and is tied for 29th while White sits at 18-over 162 and is tied for 77th. Freshman Jackie Chang, from Paradise Valley, Ariz., posted a 12-over 84, putting her tied for 90th with a 21-over 165.
There is a four-way tie for first at 25-over 601. Teams include: Alabama, Arkansas, Virginia and Wake Forest. There is also a tie for fifth between Duke and Tennessee at 26-over 602. Host LSU sits alone in seventh at 29-over 605, Texas A&M is by itself in eighth at 30-over 606, Louisville is solo in ninth at 36-over 612 and completing the top ten is Tulane at 38-over 614.
Stephanie Meadow of Alabama leads the individuals at even par 144. Tied for second are Virginia's Nicole Agnello, Duke's Stacey Kim, LSU's Megan McChrystal and Wake Forest's Cheyenne Woods. Brittany Altomare of Virginia, Lindy Duncan of Duke and Michelle Shin of Wake Forest are tied for sixth at three-over 147. And there is a tie for ninth at four-over 148 between Alabama's Brooke Pancake and Arkansas' Emily Tubert.
The final round of the 54-hole will be played Sunday at the University Club which features a par 72, 6194-yard layout. Live scoring is available on Golfstatresults.com.
