Tar Heels Earn EAGL All-Tournament Team Honors

Washington, D.C. - Seven different University of North Carolina gymnasts earned first- or second-team EAGL All-Tournament team honors Saturday, including junior Morgan Evans, who was a first-team performer on all five events. The Tar Heels won their second consecutive and fifth overall EAGL Championship with a 195.300 score to outpace New Hampshire (195.175) and Maryland (195.025).
Gymnasts earn distinction as first-team EAGL All-Tournament by placing in the top eight of the championship meet on each individual event, including ties. Second-team honors go to gymnasts placing in the next eight spots (9-16), including ties.
Carolina's other first-team all-tournament performers included Zoya Johnson (vault), Elizabeth Durkac (uneven bars), Krista Jasper (floor, all-around) and Kristin Aloi (floor).
Second-team winners were Taylor Brown (vault), Johnson (uneven bars), Aloi (balance beam), Jasper (balance beam), Durkac (balance beam) and Maura Masatsugu (balance beam).
