Tar Heels Close Out Spring Season With Another Win

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - North Carolina improved to 5-0 on its spring season with a 1-0 shutout, its third clean sheet of the spring, of Wake Forest Saturday night in Winston-Salem, N.C. The Tar Heels combined to score 14 goals on the spring season while allowing just three.
Martin Murphy tallied the game winner for the Tar Heels who were 3-0 against ACC foes during the spring beating Duke, NC State and the Demon Deacons.
The Tar Heels maintained their consistency along the backline as Scott Goodwin started in goal with Jordan McCrary, Drew McKinney, Matt Hedges and Glen Long in front of him.
The starting midfield consisted of Enzo Martinez, Kirk Urso and Jordan Gafa, while the trio of Robbie Lovejoy, Billy Schuler and Murphy started up top for the Tar Heels.
Carolina was 5-0 on the spring with four wins against in-state foes Duke, NC State, Elon and Wake Forest and also notched a 6-2 win over the Winnipeg Select squad.
