Associate Head Coach: Scott Forbes
Opening Statement:
"First of all I want to congratulate James Madison. That game tonight obviously showed what kind of team they have. And they had pitchers that were [coming] off of short rest and they just really, really competed. And they gained a lot of respect from us and our program. They have a really good offense and we knew we were going to have our work cut out for us. Coach McFarland has a great club and I think it's one of the better offenses we `ve faced all year and that's a credit to their team.
I thought Chris Munnelly did a great job of keeping us in the game. After that line-drive, he didn't feel too good. But he pitched through it. I was hoping he could give us five innings and he did. I thought our bullpen did a great job, I thought they made some key pitches and carried us through to the end of the game."
On decision for team to wear pink socks as part of their uniform in honor of Carolina baseball head coach, Mike Fox's late mother:
"It was a pretty easy decision. We wanted to honor a great lady and a huge supporter of our baseball program. Once I got the Ok from the head dog last night (Coach Fox) when I talked to him, he thought she would appreciate that. So we went with it."
LF Chaz Frank
On how it feels to advance to the Super Regional after falling in the regional round in 2010:
"It was tough to end the streak of four straight times last year. So we're super excited about going to the Super Regional this year. And we feel confident; we are confident. And we're just super excited about going to the Super Regional this year."
2B Tommy Coyle
On winning the regional for coach Fox:
"Yeah, it's one thing to win a regional, but when you do it without your head coach there; and you're pulling for him without him there, I think that makes it even more special. And we're excited to go to the Super Regional and hopefully we'll have coach Fox back for that."

Head Coach Spanky McFarland
Opening Statement
"First of all, I'd like to congratulate North Carolina. They beat us fair and square and did a nice job today. I believe they are the best team here. We made it interesting. We have a little thing called the hard hit chart. Baseball is the only sport where you can do everything right and still fail, and we hit the ball hard all day, but right at people. I thought we hit the ball harder than they did, but that's not how it works sometimes in baseball. You can mishit balls and be successful. With that being said, they had some nice big hits as well. My point is that I'm very proud of our guys. We really worked hard and swung the bats well and didn't back down. But when you get in the losers bracket and you have to reuse guys and they get tired, things happen. We kicked it around a little bit today and I think that was just wear and tear, but I'm very proud of our guys and hopefully we can build off of this experience."
On the difficulty scoring runs versus UNC:
"I think just as important as their pitching was their defense and their placement. They seemed to be in the right spots all weekend. I don't know who was in charge of that, but they sure did a nice job. The ball came off the bat and we'd think we would have a double, but there would be somebody right there. So their pitching is good but I think their defense and their placement were outstanding as well."
Sophomore Catcher Jake Lowery
On his emotions after being eliminated in the Chapel Hill Regional :
"For the seniors, they have been to two Regionals and won two CAA championships so they've done a great job and it is sad to see them go. But at the same time it was a great season. You couldn't ask for a better season. Everyone came together. We had a lot of adversity this year and to come together and make it to a Regional championship, you couldn't wish for something better than that."
Sophomore Right Fielder and Pitcher Johnny Bladel
On not being able to come back late in the game:
"I think we've been able to do that all year. Any time we are down, we are not scared at all. We know we have the bats to come back--especially when we get into [their] bullpen. It's just been a great year and I'm going to miss it."
On being called in from right field to pitch in relief:
"They told me I was going to be the first one coming in. Mainly I was just trying to enjoy it and enjoy the experience and everything. I might not get a chance to pitch against a team like this in a stadium like this again. I might not get that opportunity. But I was just trying to throw strikes and make them put it in play and let my defense make plays behind me."
