CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Allie White, a rising senior on the University of North Carolina women's golf team, was named to the 2011 All-America Scholar Team as selected by the National Golf Coaches Association. The criteria for selection to the All-America Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics as the minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.
This marks White's second time chosen an All-America Scholar as she was also named to the team in 2009, following her freshman year as a Tar Heel. The Lancaster, Ohio, native was earlier selected to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference team. White was the runner-up at this year's ACC Championship, posting a 2-over-par 215 total while leading the Tar Heels to the team championship. White played in all seven of Carolina's spring events, tying for fifth place at the Bryan National Collegiate and tying for 18th at the NCAA East Regional. She posted a 75.23 scoring average for the year with two under-par rounds and two even-par rounds.
