Three Tar Heel Softball Games To Be Televised

GRENNSBORO, N.C.-- A record 14 Atlantic Coast Conference softball games are set for national or regional telecast during the 2012 season including, for the first time, all seven games of the ACC Softball Championship May 10-12. North Carolina's series at Florida State will be televised, including the series' finale Monday, April 2, on ESPNU.
The Tar Heels' series at Florida State April 1-2 will be televised on ESPN3 and ESPNU. UNC and the Seminoles' double header Sunday, April 1, will be televised on ESPN3 before facing off Monday, April 2, at 7 p.m. on ESPNU. The games against FSU will mark Carolina softball's first-ever appearance on the ESPN family of networks.
Carolina will also be hosting the ACC Softball Championship from Anderson Stadium in Chapel Hill, N.C., May 10-12. The quarterfinal matchups are set for telecast Thursday, May 10, on ESPN3 and the ACC's Regional Sports Network (RSN). Both semifinal games will be shown on RSN Friday, May 11, and the ACC Championship game Saturday, May 12, will air live on ESPN2.
RSN, which reaches up to 24 million households, includes Fox Sports South, Sun Sports, Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic, and NESN. All ACC games on RSN will also be available on ESPN3 in locations beyond the RSN territory.
In addition to the events announced Monday, other games may be carried by the ACC Digital Network and by the regional cable partners of various ACC institutions. A complete listing of those games will be announced at a later date.
