ACC Announces 2012 TV Package

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Atlantic Coast Conference announced its 2012 television package on Monday and in addition to the previous announced ESPNU Monday night showdown against NC State on March 26 the Tar Heels will be appearing on national television five other times in 2012. The conference announced that Carolina's home series against NC State and Georgia Tech will be televised in their entirety this year.
All three games of the rivalry series between Carolina and NC State will be televised as the series was moved to a Saturday, Sunday, Monday format for the primetime showdown on ESPNU on Monday, March 26. The Saturday contest will open with a 1 p.m. first pitch between the Tar Heels and Wolfpack and will be shown on the regional sports network (RSN).
The second game of the series is set for 2 p.m. on Sunday and will be shown on ESPN3 before Monday night's primetime contest on ESPNU at 7 p.m.
The conference also announced that the entire home series against Georgia Tech (April 20-22) will also be televised as both the Friday night (6 p.m.) and Saturday afternoon (2 p.m.) contests will be shown on ESPN3.
The Tar Heels will once again be featured on ESPNU in the Sunday series finale against the Yellow Jackets as the game time has been moved to 12 noon.
The Tar Heels will open the 2012 season in less than four weeks when they host Xavier in a three-game set at Boshamer Stadium starting Feb. 17 at 3 p.m.
