Hernandez, Meyer Honored At Men's Basketball Game

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - A pair of University of North Carolina men's tennis players were honored for their academic and leadership qualities at halftime of the UNC vs. NC State men's basketball game at the Dean E. Smith Center on Thursday, January 26.
Redshirt junior Taylor Meyer of Cary, N.C. was honored with the 2011-12 Athletic Director's Scholar-Athlete Award for the sport of men's tennis. These awards go annually to one student-athlete on each of Carolina's 28 varsity sports team and are presented by Director of Athletics Bubba Cunningham.
Junior Jose Hernandez of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic was honored for the designation as a 2011-12 Leader of Distinction in the Richard A. Baddour Carolina Leadership Academy.
