Emanuel Named Preseason All-America

IRVING, Texas -- Junior left-handed pitcher Kent Emanuel was named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Preseason All-America Second Team this week.
Emanuel posted an 8-4 record with a 1.96 ERA a year ago as Carolina's Friday night starter. The Woodstock, Ga., native made 17 appearances, including 16 starts en route to 110 innings of work.
Emanuel struck out 100 batters while walking just 23 batters on the year.
The Tar Heels open the 2013 season on Feb. 15 when they welcome in Seton Hall for a three-game set.
