Trio Of Tar Heels Called Into U-20 Training Camp

CHICAGO - United States U-20 MNT head coach Tab Ramos named 26 players for an upcoming training camp in Clermont, Fla. and the roster features three Tar Heels. All-ACC Freshman Team selections Mikey Lopez and Boyd Okwuonu were named to the team along with signee Danny Garcia.
Lopez was named the 2011 ACC Freshman of the Year after his stellar first season as a Tar Heel. The Mission, Texas, native finished with three goals and four assists on the year.
Okwuonu started all 26 matches during Carolin'a run to the national title along the backline. The Edmond, Okla., native posted one assist while being part of a group that allowed just 0.69 goals per contest last season.
Garcia will be a freshman in the fall for the Tar Heels after starring for the FC Dallas Academy team the last two years.
The camp will run from Feb. 20 - March 1 and as part of the camp, the U.S. U-20 MNT will face the reserve teams from FC Dallas on Sunday, Feb. 26, at 4 p.m. ET and Montreal Impact on Wednesday, Feb. 29, at 10:30 a.m. ET. Both matches will take place at the Disney Wide World of Sports complex.
