CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Fresh off a series win over rival NC State Monday night the No. 5 Tar Heels will continue a nine-game homestand Wednesday when they take on No. 25 Coastal Carolina at 6 p.m. at Boshamer Stadium. The Tar Heels and Chanticleers have produced a back-and-forth series as UNC holds a 6-4 advantage over the last 10 meetings.
Last Week
North Carolina went 3-1 for the week with a midweek win over Princeton, 15-5, in a rain-shortened contest that was called in the top of the seventh inning. The Tar Heels then took on rival NC State in a rare Saturday-Monday series and dropped the opening game by a 3-1 margin.
The Tar Heels battled back to claim a 4-3 walk-off win on Sunday thanks to a Tommy Coyle RBI single and capped off the series win on Monday. Coyle teamed with Jacob Stallings to to drive in all seven runs with Coyle registering a grand slam and Stallings adding a two-run homer of his own.
In the series win over NC State the Tar Heel bullpen threw 16 innings and allowed just seven hits, two runs, one earned run and struck out 15 batters.

UNC - RHP Cody Penny: Junior right-hander Cody Penny will get the start for the Tar Heels on Wednesday in what will be Penny's first career start. The Sawmills, N.C., native has appeared in 38 games over his three-year career with the Tar Heels. Penny is 0-0 on the year in eight appearances.
CCU - LHP Javier Reynoso: Freshman southpaw Javier Reynoso will start for the Chanticleers on Wednesday in his third start of the year. Reynoso comes in with a 2-0 record on the year along with a 4.00 ERA.

The Tar Heels will host a second-straight instate ACC foe as the Wake Forest Demon Deacons will make the trip to Chapel Hill for a three-game series. Wake Forest heads to High Point for a midweek game Tuesday before heading to Boshamer Stadium for the opening game Friday at 6 p.m. Wake Forest is 17-9 on the year and 4-5 in ACC play.
