HONOLULU, HAWAI'I - The University of North Carolina men's tennis team traveled to Hawai'i this past week for a pair of dual matches over spring break but the weather did not cooperate and both matches were cancelled due to heavy rain in Honolulu.
UNC was scheduled to play Hawai'i Pacific University this past Monday and the University of Hawai'i on Wednesday. The Hawai'i Pacific match was cancelled outright. The match against Hawai'i had the doubles point decided as UNC swept all three doubles.
But rain intervened prior to singles and the teams were not continued. The match was eventually abandoned.
Neither match will be rescheduled.
North Carolina (4-4, ACC 1-0) will return to Chapel Hill for matches the weekend of March 16 and 18 when the Tar Heels will host Wake Forest on that Friday at 3 p.m. and NC State the following Sunday at 1 p.m.
