All-America forward Billy Schuler is starting to break into the rotation at Hammarby IF in Sweden as the former Tar Heel notched his first career assist on Monday. Schuler came off the bench in the 66th minute and assisted on Hammarby's final goal in a 3-1 win.
Schuler signed with Hammarby IF after a redshirt junior season that saw him find the back of the net a team-high 16 times en route to the NCAA title. For his efforts, Schuler was named an All-America and a finalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy.
The Allentown, N.J., native joined with a former Tar Heel in Sweden as All-America standout Gregg Berhalter took over the reins of Hammarby IF in the off-season as the team's manager.
Schuler has appeared in all three Premier League matches this season for Hammarby IF and owns an assist. Watch below as Schuler is interviewed following Monday's match.
