Farfan Added To MLS All-Star Roster
July 24, 2012 | Men's Soccer
Former Tar Heel and current member of the Philadelphia Union Michael Farfan has been added to the MLS All-Star roster for Wednesday's match against Chelsea FC.
Farfan becomes the second Tar Heel in as many years to appear on the MLS All-Star roster after Corey Ashe earned a trip last year.
Farfan has tallied a goal and four assists in 17 matches for Philadelphia Union in 2012.
The 2010 All-America pick for the Tar Heels is in his second season with the Philadelphia Union after being a second round selection in the 2011 MLS SuperDraft.
Farfan will have a chance to play in front of his hometown crowd Wednesday night as the Union will host the annual match between the MLS All-Star squad and a visiting Premier League side.
The match is set for 8:30 p.m. and will be televised on ESPN2.
