Tar Heels Tabbed Second In ACC Preseason Poll

The UNC men's soccer team has been projected to finish second in the ACC standings, according to a vote by the league's coaches.
The Tar Heels received 71 total points in the vote by the league's nine head coaches and received a league-high four first place votes.
Maryland was picked as the preseason favorite with 72 points on three first place votes. Wake Forest was named third in the poll with 60 total points and a pair of first place votes.
Filling out the rest of poll were Boston College (4th, 52 points), Virginia (5th, 49 points), Duke (6th, 42 points), Clemson (7th, 30 points), NC State (8th, 18 points) and Virginia Tech (9th, 11 points).
The Tar Heels open the 2012 season Saturday, Aug. 25 at 7 p.m. when Carolina hosts Gardner-Webb at Fetzer Field.
