Satterfield Wins 18U ASA Championship

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Erin Satterfield, a freshman on the North Carolina softball team, was a member of the Arizona Desert Thunder softball team that won the 18U Gold ASA national championships this past summer.
"We would like to congratulate freshman Erin Satterfield on becoming a ntional champion this past summer," head coach Donna Papa said. "Erin was a member of the Arizona Desert Thunder 18U Gold ASA softball team that defeated the Texas Impact 2-1 in Oklahoma City, Ok. for the national title."
Satterfield, a native of Tuscon, Ariz., is a graduate of Ironwood Ridge high school where she holds eight school records in softball. She was named to the 2012 MaxPreps All-America First Team as well as the 2012 All-Arizona team.
"We are excited to have Erin in our program," Papa said. "She is a very versatile player, playing multiple infield positions. She brings solid defensive skills, a strong bat, and a championship mentality to our program."
