January 22, 2013 | Men's Soccer
Senior forward Cameron Brown was selected by FC Dallas in the 2013 MLS Supplemental Draft on Tuesday. Brown was taken with the seventh overall pick in the first round.
Brown appeared in 21 matches for the Tar Heels in 2012 and netted three goals and distributed three assists. The senior missed the 2010 and 2011 seasons after suffering an injury late in the 2012 PDL season but was able to return in 2012.
The Dallas, Texas, native will return home and join several former Tar Heels among the club. Defenders Zach Loyd and Matt Hedges both starred for the Tar Heels in the last five years, while assistant coach Marco Ferruzzi played for Carolina from 1989-92.
