In-State Battle Pits Heels vs. Seahawks Tuesday Night

CHAPEL HILL - No. 11 North Carolina steps out of conference to host in-state foe UNC Wilmington Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m., from Fetzer Field. The match can be seen live on GoHeelsTV.
Tuesday night is Chapel Hill and Carrboro Schools Night. All local elementary and middle school students can purchase tickets for only $2. Tickets must be purchased at the Carmichael Arena ticket window prior to the match.
Carolina is coming off a 1-0 win over Syracuse this past Friday night. The win moved the Tar Heels into fifth place in the ACC Standings with three league matches remaining in the 2013 regular season.
UNC WIlmington owns a 3-3-0 record in road matches this season. That record includes a 2-1 win at Duke on Oct. 1 in Durham.
North Carolina is unbeaten it its last nine meetings with the Seahawks, a streak that began with a 1-1 draw in 1979.
In the last meeting between the two clubs, Carolina came away with a 3-1 victory in the 2011 season opener. Defenders Jordan McCrary and Boyd Okwuonu made their collegiate debuts in the match against the Seahawks.
The Tar Heels will play its next two matches on the road, starting with Saturday's tilt at Pittsburgh at 7 p.m. The following weekend the squad will visit Virginia on Friday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m.
Carolina will return home to host Georgia State on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m., before welcoming NC State on Nov. 8 for the regular-season finale on Friday night at 7 p.m.
