Carolina had three get on base, as Haleigh Dickey drew a walk in the first, Amber Parrish reached on a Wildcat error and Kristen Brown reached on a fielder's choice, both in the second.
Kentucky scored 12 runs in the first inning and didn't let up the rest of the game. The Wildcats hit four homeruns, including a grand slam by Christian Stokes in the first and two two-run homers in the second by Griffin Joiner. Katie Henderson pitched the ninth no-hitter in Kentucky's school history.
The Tar Heels split time between four pitchers as Lori Spingola (11-5) took the loss, pitching 1.2 innings and giving up seven runs, six hits and two walks with one strike out. Ashley Bone, Sara Buchholz and Constance Orr also saw time in the circle, with Buchholz and Orr each striking out a Kentucky batter.
