UNC Recruits Ranked In Top 10 Nationally

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- North Carolina men's soccer head coach Carlos Somoano was recently inducted into the Eckerd College Hall of Fame. Somoano was a four-year letterwinner for the Tritons.

Somoano was a two-year captain and earned NSCAA All-South honors during his time at Eckerd College. Following a successful playing career Somoano became an assistant coach with the Tritons before joining the Virginia Commonwealth coaching staff.

After a successful stint at VCU, Somoano joined the North Carolina coaching staff as an assistant before becoming the fifth head coach in program history. Somoano led the Tar Heels to their second national championship in his first season as the head man and was named the national coach of the year.

Somoano was honored at the Eckerd College end of the year ceremony and joined the Eckerd College Hall of Fame.
